Let me start off by saying that I love being in front of an audience. When websites like myfreecams and chaturbate gave me the impression that I’d have a bunch of guys in the room with me to entertain, I got excited. I chose myfreecams to start, because you aren’t required to be a pro-masturbator to join. I do more strip tease, fetish, oral fun, dance and nudity. Basically, you could be a non-nude model if you wanted to. It reminded me of my strip club days where I could go in, dance and get tipped. I come to find out both websites take half your money. I’m ok, because they are giving us a platform. They must be promoting us with ads everywhere (though I don’t recall seeing any on tv). Promotions, website upkeep, x amount of windows and private chats all costs money. The data storage, the power and multiple windows for each model is hard to put together.
I go in my first day into a room with my brand new Logitech 920 webcam. I’m all dressed up – make up on, sexy clothes. I got the lamps to reflect the right amount of light. When I went in, about 5 guys showed up. I’m thinking this is it! This is my chance to rock the crowd. So I start talking to them, dancing and asking who wants to see a show. I get people who will chat, but no tips. Maybe I have to talk a little more with the guys and loosen them up. I talk for about 10 – 15 minute with a few of them. No tips still. Ok, I’ll just get up and dance, and then they’ll start tipping in anticipation of the show. Nothing. The guys that did come in the rooms didn’t stay very long. They would come in and jump right back out. I’m like the what the f— is going on? Where is my audience?

Tons of guy were PMing me and trying to get me to do skype shows. Well, why the hell would they get a Skpe show when they could just go to a private show on the website? That’s when I started to realize that these guys were freeloading and just waiting for someone else to pay the money so they can all watch. Eventually, a guy came in, called all the guys in the room freeloading assholes and tipped me what amounts to $10. No show required. I mean some of the guys were nice to talk to and chat about stuff with, but, damn, I’m also there to make money. I had been in the room for 2 hours. It was about 10pm, and I said that it was nice chatting but I had to go. One of them was asking for a tit flash. I ask what about some tokens please (the price for that was 40 tokens which amounts to $4.00 for me $8.00 for them). Nobody in that room would budge. I said, “Ok, gotta go.” One of the guys says “Wait, wait – don’t go. Just flash us, pullleeeez!” I told them that I can for 40 tokens. I swear I had to jerk this guy left, right, up and down to get the lousy 40tk out of him. I would have had better luck walking up to a guy on the street, picking him up and shaking whatever money he had out of his pockets on to the ground. That would have been easier. Finally, one of the tight wads tosses the 40 in and my shirt goes up. I don’t think I’ve ever had to work that hard in the sex industry doing ANYTHING else.
I got to thinking (after a few “sessions” of this dancing without tips) about how unfair it is to the poor guy who throws his money down. So he pays the $20 for a masturbation show, cum show, strip tease in my case, etc. All these other guys get a freebie off of his money. Well, that doesn’t seem fair to me. If he’s spending his hard earned money, why aren’t they? I go out with my friends to the bar. I buy them a round of drinks. Well, it’s common courtesy that on the next round, someone else buys them. It shouldn’t be me every time, right? Well, it looked like that is what was going on. From the other cam girls that worked these rooms, they said they only make money off of 20% of the people. I’m like WHAT?? Yeah, that’s not going to work for me. It’s not ethical to me. If they are all tipping, fine. If only one or two guys are tipping out of a room of 50, not fine. I’m not down with a place that takes all the money from the same three guys while everyone else gets a handout. I believe that’s why we don’t do communism in America.

Another thing that bothered me about the “freemium” websites, as they call them, was that they take 50% of your money. But, they expect YOU to do all the promotions and putting yourself out there on twitter, snapchat, here, there and everywhere else in order to build an audience to come see you. Excuse me, but if I’m giving you 50% of my money, I shouldn’t have to build up a clientele. It should be there when I go in the room. If I have to go out and get them myself, I want at least 75%. I’ll kick you back the other 25% for the platform. If something doesn’t seem fair to me, I’m not going along. It doesn’t matter to me how much money is involved. I always believe that if you do right by people, the money will come sooner or later.
So, I say work smarter not harder. Enter private platform based cam sites. On those websites, I get to keep at least 75% of my earnings. It’s mainly private shows for paying members ONLY. No free loading bull crap. So this idea works for me. It seems much more democratic for the ladies and the guys. Both of those websites also look well put together. They charge you by the minute. You’re not stuck going “how many tokens do I get for that again?” You can budget for it. It only takes me x amount of minutes to get off, so I’ll spend this much. Not that you guys would ever think this way. But in case you do, make sure that your account has enough money, because just like the peep shows, the curtain comes down when the money runs out whether you finish or not. Now, I’m not a guy, but I would imagine that it’s similar to being a friend’s party, having a good buzz going and ooops, no more wine. But, in all seriousness, I’m more comfortable promoting myself on a website that offers a decent pay out. You get to set your own prices. I’ve seen girls charge anywhere from $1.99 a minute to $12 a minute. The average is $2-4 per minute.

So I can still perform for many people. All of it is done on a regular chat platform. I still have some free chat. I can dance and entertain people and then go private when they request. There is room to still entertain and make people happy. You can also do group shows where you and your friends can have fun.
